Lina is a Registered Social Worker in the provinces of Alberta and Ontario. Coming from a place of compassion, empathy, and acceptance, Lina provides individual and couples therapy for a variety of concerns. In particular, Lina has vast experience in the path of healing trauma. As a part of her work with trauma, she was trained to provide Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. Lina also has experience in education, consultation, and is available to provide workshops.
Lina received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Social Intervention from the University of Ottawa in 2003. In 2005, she earned her Masters of Social Work from the University of Ottawa. Lina has worked with victims of sexual assault, victims of crimes and tragic circumstances and Canadian Armed Forces members and their families. Lina is a member in good standing of the Alberta College of Social Workers and currently works at CFB Edmonton as a Medical Social Worker.
Lina has been a practitioner of yoga since 2000, and recently fell in love with the opportunity of teaching yoga. She is a qualified teacher under the standards of the Yoga Alliance and was part of the first cohort of student graduating from the The Teacher Within 200 Hours Yoga Teacher Training at the School of Inner Source (Institute of Inner Source). She is also trained in level 1 of iRest® Yoga Nidra meditation. Lina currently teaches iRest® Yoga Nidra meditation classes at Lahari Yoga Studio in St Albert, Alberta.
